Coaching Info - Meeting 8/21 @6:30 pm

Information for all Coaches and Assistant coaches!!

Thank you so much for volunteering to coach a team for us! We truly appreciate your help!! Without you, our program would not work, and the children would not be able to play. I'm sure a few of you had your arms twisted to help us, and we're very glad you agreed!!

Here are the items needed from each of our coaches:

1.) Please make sure you have volunteered to coach on our website. That is how I can add you to the team, you can send out mass-emails to your kids about practices, etc, and a million other things. =)

2.) We are required, by law, to have all volunteers who have contact with children to obtain all clearances. Please go to: http://www.epysa.org/membership/pa_child_protection_laws__clearances/ and complete all areas that pertain to you and your situation. When you receive your certificates, please email a copy of each to me. If you already have your clearances, please email a copy of all certificates to me.  WE MUST HAVE ALL CLEARANCES FOR ALL COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES NO LATER THAN 1 month after the start of the season!  Please email them to me as soon as possible. If you did them last season, please remind me. =)

3.) We are also required by PA State Law to instruct ALL coaches and assistant coaches yearly on concussion awareness. Everyone must view an online concussion education training module. This is for the safety and well being of the children playing. This program does take a bit of time (30 - 45 minutes I believe) so please plan accordingly. I do need to send a copy of everyone's Completion Certificate to our state soccer office, so please make sure I get a copy when you are finished. (PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME WHEN PROMPTED, AS THIS WILL ADD IT TO YOUR CERTIFICATE.)

4.) A few reminders:
Please remember to check your email regularly, as any team/game/practice changes, cancellations, etc are done through emails.
Do NOT leave before your last player(s) has/have been picked up.
No profanity is allowed at the complex. This is a family area.
Please have your players pick up after themselves. Leave your practice field and surrounding areas clean.
No pets are allowed at the complex. No tobacco is allowed at the complex.
No headers/head balls are allowed for players 10 and under, and are greatly reduced for those 11-13. (State regulation!)
Encourage all families to help in the concession stand at least one time each season.
Help is always available! Steve Tanner is always willing to help you with coaching techniques, skills, etc. He is a great resource!
If you lose any players due to injury, quit, move, whatever - PLEASE let me know as soon as possible. We have (or will be on) a waiting list for most of the age groups, so I will be able to fill them usually pretty quickly.

If you ever have any questions or problems, just let me know and I will see that the correct person is made aware and your issue is taken care of as promptly as possible.
